Supplemental Materials for Individual Course Curriculum

The AIC course of study is designed for an insurance professional, specializing in the claims area. There are no prerequisites for this program. If you have taken other institute courses, you might check to see if that course(s) is a substitute for one of the AIC courses.

The ARM course of study is designed for an insurance professional, who is specializing in the risk management area. There are no prerequisites for this program.

The CPCU course of study is designed for an insurance professional with a minimum of three years experience. It assumes the entering CPCU student has knowledge of basic insurance principles and practices.

The INS course of study is designed for an individual new to the insurance industry. It assumes the entering INS student has no or very little knowledge of basic insurance principles and practices. It is recommended a student start with the INS 21 course for the introduction of basic terminology. Then either INS 22 or 23 may be completed. Completion of INS 21, 22 and 23 earns the student the Certificate in General Insurance. These courses can be used toward completion of other designations. They do qualify for the waiver of CPCU 553 and CPCU 557, if you are pursuing the CPCU designation.
